LakeHouse was originally established as a design studio devoted to licensing product and
surface designs to manufacturers in the craft, home textile, gift, stationery & wallpaper
industries in 1988. Prior to that it's founder, Holly Holderman enjoyed a successful career in
interior architecture and design with offices in Sausalito, California and New York City,
devoted to small commercial and residential projects. Holly made her first quilt as a
teenager and she began collecting antique quilts and quilt pieces in college. Her first quilt
purchase was a Texas Star.
Today, 19 years after it's inception, LakeHouse the design licensing studio has morphed
into LakeHouse Dry Goods a textile design, converting & importing business with an
emphasis on quilting fabrics, baby bedding and children's clothing. In addition, the
LakeHouse Design studio produces project patterns for lap & wall quilts, aprons, table
runners, tote bags and bed sized quilts.
Holly's award winning designs have appeared in McCall's Quilting magazine, American
Patchwork & Quilting's "Quilts and More", Fab Shop News, Home Fashion Daily, Country
Home and Country Living magazines, to name a few.
Her fabrics are sold only to Independent shops such as ours. See Lake House Dry Goods for
